Our History

Long Painting’s history extends back to the late Ty Long and his wife Anne, who believed in succeeding by caring for customers and offering unprecedented knowledge and craftsmanship.  They launched their coatings business in 1967, operating out of a small shop in Seattle. Under their leadership, the company quickly outgrew the small shop.

By 1970, operations expanded to a five-and-one-half acre complex in the South Park area of Seattle. In 1971, capabilities were expanded to encompass industrial sandblasting, and a shop blasting and coating facility was developed. In 1976, Long Painting Company entered the marine painting field, which necessitated the development of exceptional staff capabilities and the acquisition of custom-designed equipment.

Today, Long Painting Company is one of the largest coating contractors in the Pacific Northwest because we believe in customer success based on experience and knowledge. The company continues to be managed by a group of individuals who have succeeded in the field and bring their knowledge and experience to the supervisory and executive levels.

With our customer-focused commitment, Long Painting Company continues to grow by providing quality, cost-effective painting and related services using the latest technology while protecting the safety of team members, customers, owners, and the general public.
