A Warm Welcome to Todd and Kevin

Please help us welcome Todd Speakman to the Long Painting team!

Todd began working in the coatings industry when he joined the Northwest Industrial Painting team as an apprentice during his summer vacations in college. While working for Northwest Industrial, Todd helped perform industrial projects (stack repaints, tanks, and paper mills) as well as commercial projects for Walmart-Mill Plain, Marysville Middle School, and more local businesses. From there, Todd worked as an apprentice for Dunkin & Bush where he worked on industrial coatings, tank linings/exteriors, and piping for the petrochemical industry in Portland, Oregon.  Once he received his Applied & Computational Math Sciences degree from the University of Washington, Todd became a Project Manager out of the Portland and Bakersfield, California offices.

In 2009, Todd took a job with Ken Small Industries, LP as a Project Controls Specialist performing various Project Management tasks in the Bakersfield oilfields. While working for Ken Small Industries, he was promoted to Project Manager where he supervised projects including installing new pipelines, new steam generation/water plant facilities, flowlines, and CoGen’s up until the point that he joined our team.

Todd grew up in Amboy, Washington and graduated from Battle Ground High School. He has been married to his wife, Whitneyrae, for almost two years. Together they have a spunky six month old daughter named Anaya Leigh.

In his free time, Todd and his wife are avid billiards players. They compete locally and nationally in Las Vegas. Todd was even one of the top players in Bakersfield and will be again locally in Vancouver! Todd also enjoys golf and spending time with his family — especially his brand new nephew!

Kevin O’Hara recently graduated from Oregon State University in the Winter of 2016 with Dual Degrees in Construction Engineering Management and Innovation Management. Before OSU, Kevin attended Chemeketa Community College for a few years before transferring to the university. O’Hara was actually born in Corvallis (OSU’s location) but grew up in Salem, Oregon for the majority of his life.

While attending school, Kevin worked as a Lab Technician for Chemeketa’s Science Department, as an Event Manager for OSU’s Memorial Union (where he helped manage OSU’s biggest events), as a Computer Support Technician for OSU’s Academic Technology division (where he helped maintain and assist teachers with OSU’s 300+ classrooms), and on occasion as an Audio Grip for OSU Athletics during OSU home football and basketball games.

Outside of Long Painting Company, Kevin also works for Major League Baseball up in Seattle as an Instant Replay Technician. He is a big sports guy who is a lifelong Portland Trail Blazer and Seattle Seahawks fan and who also enjoys fantasy football. Kevin also likes to go hiking, jogging, and spend time with his friends and family.

Kevin joins our team as an Estimator and we are thrilled to have him! Welcome to the team, Kevin!
