Lunch and Learn

Who can resist a free lunch? And who wouldn’t want to learn more about their partner industries? Long Painting Company was happy to bring “Lunch and Learn” to the offices of several general contractors, with the goal of providing a forum to the project managers, estimators, and engineers we work with to learn more about the products commonly used on their projects.

Our audience let us know they were interested in learning more about traffic deck coatings and intumescent fireproofing. Long Painting was happy to help– we called in our partners at BASF and Isolatek to co-present with us. After serving lunch, Long Painting kicked off the events by reviewing case studies of two of our recently completed projects, discussing the challenges and benefits of submitting alternative products. Architects are tasked with selecting a wide range of coatings systems that serve a variety of functions.  Often, standard coating systems specifications are outdated and not appropriate for the  specific environmental conditions or specific project requirements. When this happens the best solution is for all parties to meet and discuss other coatings systems options.

BASF representative Crag Schumann taught everyone what they should know about traffic deck coatings. And thanks to Terry Wildebor from Isolatek, the group learned all about intumescent fireproofing. Did you know that the demand for intumescents has risen 166% in the last five years?
