LPC Plays a Major Role in the I-90 Light Rail Expansion Project
Feb 08, 2019 | by Lisa Schaefer
The I-90 floating bridge that runs across Lake Washington between Seattle and Bellevue is being prepared for the new light rail expansion project. The pontoons on the bridge are being strengthened with massive cables.
Long Painting Company is sand blasting and coating the large steel support anchor assemblies for these cables at each end of the bridge. This work is being completed within the concrete pontoons, and will protect the structure from corrosion and degradation for years to come.
This will be the world’s first light rail on a floating bridge. Long Painting is proud to be involved in this historic transportation project which is scheduled to open in 2023.
