Training

Training is one of the core values that began when Long Painting was founded. Our people are the cornerstone of a good job or a bad job; they are our most cherished asset. We are proud of the many employees who began their careers in the field have grown into Estimators, Project Managers and Corporate Officers.

Painters are trained at scheduled company training forums on how to work safely. Every employee of Long Painting is given a safety orientation. Individual training continues the first day a painter arrives on a project site, utilizing a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). This process is ongoing with newly assigned workers also participating. Each month a foreman's meeting is held to discuss a scheduled safety topic along with the status of current jobs.

All employees attend an annual General Safety Meeting where guest speakers present topics relavant to our safety program. Additional training is conducted by Long's safety department, and by safety training organizations and vendors. An example of this is the OSHA 10 hour and OSHA 30 hour training courses in Construction Safety.

Based on our 5 Diamond program a "Foreman of the Year" is selected. A plaque is displayed in the lobby of our Kent office recognizing these foremen.
