Shriners Hospital Addition and Renovation

Overview:  Built on a highly confined space, this upgrade to the existing children's hospital includes a five-story, 73,000 SF expansion built over the existing parking garage and a 49,000 SF remodel to the existing hospital. The addition includes a surgery suite, inpatient care unit, workshops for fabrication of braces and prosthetic limbs, motion analysis lab, expanded nurse stations, private treatment rooms, mechanical and electrical rooms, and a 16,000 gallon fuel tank. Part of the existing hospital will undergo an exterior improvement to match the expansion. A large portion of the existing hospital was also renovated, including operating rooms, rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, cafeteria and dining facility, play rooms, pharmacy, and much more. Long Painting is responsible for painting the interior walls, ceilings, doors, frames and stair steel. Long also painted exterior canopies and handrails and applied Elastomeric to concrete walls.
