Long Painting Company Safety Certifications

EPA Certification under 40 CFR Part 745

Long Painting was issued a certification by the EPA to perform lead based paint activities in target housing and child-occupied facilities in the state of Washington pursuant to 40 CFR Part 745. This certification was issued after an evaluation of Long’s current safety procedures and its past records of working on projects involving lead based paint.

There are very few other painting contractors in Washington with this certification and it is another testament to Long’s goal of conducting its operations in a manner that protects both its employees and the environment from the detrimental effects of lead.

Certified Instructor for OSHA 10 and 30 Hour Construction Safety Courses

Long Painting’s Safety Director, Ed Todd, was designated by OSHA as a certified instructor for the 10 and 30 hour course in OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry. These courses cover:

  • Fall Protection
  • Electrical standards
  • Personal protective and life saving equipment
  • Material handling
  • Hand and power tools
  • Scaffolding
  • Cranes, hoists, and conveyors
  • Excavations
  • Stairways and ladder

It has been very helpful to have an in-house instructor who can schedule the classes in coordination with the production staff sitting just down the hall from him. So far there have been 22 Long employees to complete the 10-hour course and 8 have completed the 30-hour course.
